Choosing Your Colors
When it comes to bears, they come in a variety of colors. For a realistic look, you’ll want to start with shades of brown, black, and sometimes even white for polar bears. Their noses and eyes are usually black, so a nice dark black marker or crayon will work perfectly.
For the cartoon bears, you can get a bit more creative! Maybe try some fun colors like purple, blue, or green. It’s your bear, so make it as wild and colorful as you want!
When I colored mine, I used a warm brown for the body and a deep black for the nose and eyes. For a cartoon bear, I went with a vibrant purple coat and orange spots!
What to Use for Coloring
You can use anything you like for coloring these bears. Here are a few ideas:
- Crayons: Great for younger kids because they are easy to use and come in lots of colors.
- Markers: Perfect for bright, bold colors. Just be careful not to press too hard!
- Colored Pencils: These are awesome for shading and adding details.
I used colored pencils for the realistic bear to get the shading just right and markers for the cartoon bear to make the colors pop!
Fun Fact About Bears
Did you know that bears are excellent at climbing trees and swimming? Even though they look big and clumsy, they are very strong and agile. This helps them find food and escape from danger in the wild.
Knowing this, you can imagine your bear climbing up a tree or splashing in a river. Maybe add some green trees or a blue river in the background to show them in their natural habitat.
When I was coloring, I added some tall green trees and a bright blue river behind my bear to make it look like it was exploring its surroundings!
Have Fun!
The most important thing is to have fun and be creative. There are no rules when it comes to coloring. Maybe your bear has rainbow fur or a shiny silver coat – it's all up to you!
I had a blast mixing colors and trying out different patterns. One of my bears ended up with blue stripes instead of a solid color, and it looked awesome!
